This year was the seventh edition of the Smiling Hospital Charity Gala, organized in Budapest, Hungary. It was a great success. A total of 5.794.050 HUF was collected, equal to 18.780 Euro. This year’s theme was ‘Sound of Music’ and with multiple musical performances, the most memorable performance was of the childrens choir and their ‘Do-Re-Mi’.
BKC sponsor gala
BKC contributed to the gala in sponsorship, by buying a table for the evening. During the evening a tombola was organized and BKC bought different lottery tickets and was the highest bidder for several objects during the auction. Also, Mirjam Hakvoort donated 50 copies of her new book, little witch Raldali, to the foundation. A great evening, for both BKC as the Smiling Hospital Foundation.
Happiness Helps Recovery
The Smiling Hospital Foundation is a foundation founded in 2004 in Budapest. Their aim is to “lift the spirits of – particularly – sick children in hospitals in order to help the process of their recovery”. Visits of musicians, magicians, doll-players and other artists all help in this process. Another aim of the foundation is financing medical instruments and help improve the general environment of the hospitals.
